Hi All, I love crafts and have done since I was very young. I seem to have always had a needle of some description in my hand!
I learned to knit when I was 4 and loved it. My barbies had the best looking scarves back in the 80’s!
I have knit quite a lot of different things over the years, some wearable and some not. But I enjoyed the learning process during making them.
I also did a lot of cross stitching growing up too. Some even ended up on the wall which was a massive achievement. The best thing I did was a sampler with my name and birth date.
The pandemic was not great for a lot of us, it for me it was great to explore my own hobby. I learned to crochet a few months before and managed to make a couple of cardigans, but I needed to neaten my work up a little which I did!
The pandemic also allowed me to learn how to create my very own patterns. I knitted so many tops and mittens that I decided to sell them. A Cottage Crafter was on the horizon but I had to improve my products to make them worthy to sell!
So a move from the Midlands to the coast was set in place and with all my new surroundings I had a beautiful place to be creative.
I have many patterns written now and I need to get them out so I can sell them and they’re lovely patterns too! ( in my opinion of course). They have helped me during my time being unemployed too, I mean let’s face it, who wants to employ a woman in her 40’s with too many different qualifications?
I became bored after my move too, I had left all my friends behind and had no one to talk with once the lockdowns lifted. So I found a group to join and a new hobby to do, sewing!
Never before had I properly sewn or used a machine! This was the perfect opportunity to have a new skill and a new craft, which I’ve become very good at in just a couple of weeks!
I’ve made quite a lot of handy accessories and makes bags. I’ve got them listed in my shop so hop over to have a peek if you’re curious to what they look like 👍
I love to take pictures of what I see daily and post them onto my instagram stories, occasionally they may appear on here, who knows?
